CultureShift Book Club: Powerarchy
Please RSVP by registering here on Zoom: http://bit.ly/shiftpowerarchy
Join FFAC’s new CultureShift Book Club! Meetings will take place on the first Tuesday of each month, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. PT. We’ll be discussing a variety of books and long-form articles that explore speciesism, racism, sexism, materialism, and their interconnections. Everyone is welcome!
Since the first Tuesday in November is Election Day, we’ll meet Tuesday, November 10, 5:30-7 p.m. Pacific Time.
We’ll discuss Melanie Joy’s "Powerarchy: Understanding the Psychology of Oppression for Social Transformation."
“Melanie Joy exposes the psychology that underlies all forms of oppression and abuse [and] why people who were opposed to one or more forms of oppression--such as racism, sexism, speciesism, and so forth--often stayed mired in many others.”
