Oakland Veg Week is honored to partner with the Center for Animal Protection & Education (CAPE) for the first-ever Oakland Animal Film Festival!
The evening will feature a series of both local and international short films featuring enlightening and heartwarming stories about animals:
*Fowl Far Afield by Christiana Ciano: a flock of wild turkeys move into an urban neighborhood in Madison, WI.
*Lifelong Fitness by Ryan Vance: story of a 78-year-old vegan bodybuilder
*RED by Hossein Keshavarzi: Persian film about a little boy who loses his fish and how an old man comes to the rescue in a dramatic way.
*The Ethics of Diet by Ethan Elliott-Williams: An animated short that examines the pros and cons of our dietary choices.
*The Goat (parts 1,2,3) by James Button: A short film trilogy about a goat who becomes the companion to a young man and his reluctant, long suffering room mate.
*You've Got a Friend in Me by Antas Benas Alisauskas and Marius Krivicius: Lithuanian short about forming friendships with turkeys.
*Turlock by Keegan Kuhn: Documentary from the acclaimed director of "Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret" follows one of the largest animal rescues in history.
Featuring a Q&A with Jan Galeazzi from Animal Place after the film.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door
